Hi,

There is quite a bit of smoke surrounding the summit as viewed
from the basecamp. But through the murk,
we've been watching the big tankers drop retardant on Mt. Hopkins.
It's going to be a nice red color. Those pilots are amazing!

We were also listening in to their air-to-air comm; they must
have ice in their veins. According to the pilots, they
are dropping exactly where they want it. One of the spots was
just below the road that can be seen from the basecamp, as
one approaches the bowl. So that's the W side, which makes
one nervous about what they expect.
