The safest way to remove the telescope from the pier follows:

1 -  Remove the cover of the west side of the Az base.
2 -  With the drives off,  reach in and rotate the rightmost large belt pulley in the direction which easily moves the telescope from the pier.
3 -  Cancel the move on TCS (F9), then power up the drives.
4 -  Hand paddle the telescope farther from the pier or limit.
5 -  When the telescope is safely clear, use TCS to stow the telescope.
