Peters): Description of hardware: www.cfa.harvard.edu/~dwoods/60wfs.htm FOV of guider is about 1'x1' Procedure once WFS is mounted: 0) Connect guide camera BNC to guide monitor. 1) Turn camera on and begin cooling. 2) Take bias frames. 3) Take calibration images. 4) Telescope pointing: go to bright star and put star in center of video screen. 5) Take test image to check integration time and focus. 6) Determine North-South-East-West orientation States: . Knob out: sky, turn off LED (unplug) . Knob in: LED, turn on LED . Bias levels about 2700 . Temp set point -30C Use vncviewer linmax:2 (fix_pass) and in an xterm, cd /home/dwoods. To start the WFS GUI, execute the script startapogee in /home/dwoods. For an example, view snapshot.jpg. To pop the temp plots, use ALT-P (or Edit and Properties). To pop the calibrations window, use ALT-C.
