Misc TRES notes There are 6 fibers that exit the front end and go to the spectrograph, 2 each (object/sky) of small (1.4"), M (2.3"), and L (3.2"). Currently all observing is done in the default binby2 M fiber setup. Run this calibration script in the afternoon: scripts/dave_evening_calib Run this cal script in the morning: scripts/dave_morning_calib2 Take darks "repeat 5 dark 600" "repeat 3 total 600" to take sequence on target. There are 2 independent calibration lamp systems. The lamps for the current system in use are located in the TRES electronics room. The lamps feed a fiber back to the front end, where there is an 8-position moveable periscope that illuminates each fiber individually. (6 fiber positions, the Pout position (for observing), and Pin. For the quicklook in iraf: set datadir with "trsdate". Use "ctres filenumber" or "ctres filneumber, filenumber, filenumber" There is no need to use the command "qtres", ctres does it all. The output of "ctres filenumber, filenumber, filenumber" displays 6 outputs: the individual extracted file object data, then the sky data, repeated for each filenumber. You must seek out and and splot the summed, cleaned, extracted spectrum. The summed spectrum will be in the same directory set by trsdate, and have a filename like: 0265.Ceres_sum_0196_0198_f1.ec.fits where f1 is the object fiber and 196-198 are the filenumbers.
